does not get serious about keeping sidewalk ramps clear for wheelchairs,
strollers, and other sidewalk access ramps. Since this winter has been
kind to shovelers in Minneapolis so far, let's see what other cities are
doing that would work for us.
John Kerry (yes, THAT John Kerry) has just paid a $50 fine for snow on the
sidewalk on Thursday, three days after the snowstorm, and it was an error
on the part of the company he hired to do the work. His property condition
was reported by a citizen who just snapped a picture and sent it to the
Boston equivalent of 311
Boston fines and rules are $50 a day, EACH day, commencing 3 hours after
the snow has stopped falling or three hours after sunrise if it was an over
night storm.
