empty lot of Cedar. We've been there three years and have only heard support
from community members. We also initially discussed our presence with Cam
Gordan when we first set up the "train."
Today, sighting a called in complaint, the police kicked us off the lot for
trespassing. Two squad cars drove up with their lights on, one drove up onto
the sidewalk (almost running over someone who was eating soup's bike). They
also blared their horns at us when we were talking to someone who inquired
about what had happened.
Personally, I am shocked by this, and would like to be able to continue serving
food on this lot. We were threatened with a trespassing citation if we ever
showed up again though.
I'm interested in finding out what kind of support we really have in this
community, and if there are any ideas for getting us back on that space.
I also would like to express that we have always tried to respect the
neighborhood and property. We have been asked not to show up when other events
were going on on the lot and we have always complied. We have also spent a lot
of time picking up trash on the site (last week it was a huge mess and we all
took turns cleaning up trash). If anyone does have a complaint that we could
resolve we are happy to hear those and try to resolve it.
Thank you,
Sarah Lynne
