Her mob shouts "Kill him!"
Obama Hatred At McCain-Palin Rallies: "Terrorist! Kill Him!"
Oct 6, 2008 ... Yep...you read the title correctly. McCain and Palin are
whipping the mindless republican crowds into a frenzy.
McCain and Palin have loosed the monster of hatred. Can McCain's call to
respect Obama rejar this Jinni? It is probably as easy to contain McCain's
Monster as it was to contain Frankenstein's Monster. Not very.

What was interesting was McCain's response to Minnesotan's comments in Lakeville. "You don't need to be afraid if Obama is elected President." and, paraphrasing, He is not Arab. He is a citizen that deserves respect. We just differ on how to approach issues. It seems John McCain isn't comfortable with the reaction from the very partisan crowd. I talked about this possibility a while back. It's a grim view of some fellow
Americans, but unfortunately accurate. I overheard a woman talking about Obama
a month ago. She was regretting that he hadn't died in a plane crash, but also
opined that someone should kill him. For that woman it was most probably all
talk, but we are a country seemingly teeming with nutters. It is not beyond
thinking that some wing nut will try to kill Obama as different ones killed two
Kennedys, took pot shots at Reagan and Ford, killed ML King and even songster
John Lennon. And then, of course, there's Timothy McVeigh.
The Secret Service does follow Obama around, but then, they followed Reagan,
Ford, and at least John Kennedy to no avail. I fear for Mr. Obama.
That a candidate for veep would encourage such hatred is beneath contempt.
There can be no defense of Palin's behavior.
It isn't just interesting that McCain says this or that he is uncomfortable
with it. He should be! I would hope that someone who makes it as far as
becoming a presidential candidate has some sound judgment. What is interesting
is if people are really threatening Obama's life, isn't there some kind of
legal repercussion for this? He could very well be the next president.

We live in incomprehensible times. People yelling "kill him" would
have been arrested in Charles Manson's day. People who are short
selling and creating incredibly complex derivatives would be arrested
in Keating's day. But none of this is happening. The Democratic
presidential candidate is the subject of crowd calls for murder while
the Republican vice presidential candidate grins.
AP snip:
{Charles} Keating went to prison for more than four years after a
federal fraud conviction. The conviction was reversed on appeal after
he argued that jurors improperly had knowledge of a prior state
conviction on related charges. He was to be retried in federal court
but instead pleaded guilty to four federal fraud counts. Keating
admitted he siphoned nearly $1 million from his S&L's insolvent
parent company. He was sentenced to time he already had served.

Aside from lack of experience for the job of vice president and
understanding or even a passing acquaintance with the Constitution or
legislation of the day, Palin displays her misunderstanding of the
separation of powers as well.
There are two things wrong with this picture: one a miscast character
and two a presidential candidate who thinks so little of his country
that he would foist her on us as a real possibility of president
should he die in office.
We all know that a soccer/hockey mom will never hold up in NATO, G-8,
or other multi-lateral treaty discussions. Lesson learned was back at
the Potsdam conference when Churchill quickly discerned the lack of
experience of Harry Truman. Of course Truman went on to be beloved in
our country but back then a heartbeat was not enough to qualify him
for the monumental job of meeting with Churchill and Stalin.
Put Palin, who is hundreds of degrees removed from Truman in that
picture, and the mockery of our government is quickly revealed.
McCain's so called deep knowledge of foreign affairs does not go
beyond his own mortality. Otherwise he would never have chosen this
person.
And so we are left with the cries of "kill him." A Madame Thrse
Defarge of our own who smiles and anticipates her assent to the
pinnacle seat of power, a goal no other kind of satisfaction can give
her.
If people get arrested for organized civil disobedience when they stand up for
what's good & against injustice, these folks should also. It is shameful if
they don't.

We are at a time in American history to personify tolerance and love of
democracy we boast of as a Nation.
Regardless, it is the McCain Camp's responsibility to hold those individuals
accountable for their hate speech, not make light of it or ignore it.
The most obvious is right in front of your face and it is denial that makes it
harder to accept it. But it isn't cute when she does not say that's enough
guys...silence is acceptance.
My entire family is purple. I know that I have to walk on eggshells so not to
offend; but I am sure this makes even my McCain supporters in my family a bit
sick to their stomachs. A hate crime is just a modern lynching. Screaming
"kill him" is a terrorist threat.
My father is a 78 year old Catholic, African American man who remembers
segregated trains. Just because we young folks don't recognize the code,
doesn't mean they don't.
You're all delusional nut jobs. Reading your little left wing media snippets
and believing every last word your minds can digest aren't you? That's
rhetorical... by the way.
If any of you was there, I'd be glad to have you comment on the situation.
Without first hand knowledge or experience, you're all just rambling peons who
follow their "leaders" quite similar to another historical party. Seems to
remind me a little bit of a certain German Reich, hmm interesting. Don't be so
blind as that you can't even stop for a moment and question the subject matter
you're engaged in.
You people who believe everything that your local and national news stations
tell you or your favorite MPR host rambles about... are the ones who should be
ashamed. These posts are so ludicrous it litterally makes me laugh out loud.
Reading some of the inane babble that the severely left leaning folks post on
here.
Take a few minutes out of your day - if you were taught basic high school
American history before 1995 or so, you should know where this country came
from. Take some time to reflect on how your grandparents would feel if they
knew you so easily would squander what they worked so hard for. These
freedoms, these standards of living, on and on. If you're so excited about
socialism and so ready to throw away your rights, move somewhere else. America
doesn't need you.
And again - no doubt some ridiculous reason this won't make the post. Thanks
again moderator!
Here's a quote for you Zach....(A little bit of history) "Naturally, the common people don't want war, but after all it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag people along... Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. This is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked and denouce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and for exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country." Kinda sounds like the last eight years, huh? War is sometimes the answer but not always and never the first answer. This quote is by Reich-Marshall Hermann Goering at the Nazi Nuremburg Trials. My left wing father, who served in WWII (enlisted in the Army when he was 17) in Italy, Morrocco the Phillipines and just off the coast of Japan when the bombs were dropped turned me onto some of that war's history. His left wing brother enlisted at 16 in the Navy, came back and enlisted in the Army. Their left wing father served in WWI as a mule skinner in Europe and got gassed bymustard gas. Lost one of his lumgs. My father and uncle both got Malaria. My father also served in the National Guard and was deployed to Korea. I love my country with all my heart and soul. Period. But we are not always right. I love her enough to correct her. I love her enough to want her to be her best, just like she is meant to be.
