Hello David
Would you Residents Association like to appoint someone to be the local
Manager of the Halswell Neighbours Forum?
I've been attending the International Speakers Symposium at the
University of Canterbury this weekend. Speaker after speaker talks about
the importance of LOCAL, discussion that builds confidence and
reinvestment in the city.
It is beyond the City Councils power, to instill confidence in the
community.
It's beyond the power of CERA, or the government to create confidence in
the city.
That power exists in the community, in 100,000 homes, and in the minds
of 450,000 residents.
When we are talking to each other about reinvesting in home
improvements, and when your local street group is making the street
tidy, and neighbours are working to help each other, when people talk
with confidence about the future, Christchurch will have a future. We're
not there yet.
The Halswell forum should have 1000, members. I can't make that happen.
The residents of Halswell can.
First of all, someone has to say, I'll stand up and be responsible for this!
Does the Halswell Residents Association have that much courage?
