"Five of the six Zoning Board of Appeals members nominated by Mayor Yvonne
Spicer recently were approved by the City Council on Tuesday. A majority
Councilors voted against one nominee due to her anti-business reputation, they
said."

I attended the meeting last night and saw a mostly civil discussion but the
"cutting remarks' made by a member of the business community (which contained
factual errors) was, in my view, business unfriendly. The inaccurate personal
attacks were unnecessary, Another member of the business community showed you
can disagree without personally attacking with inaccurate information a
respected member of the community - that is business unfriendly IMHO.
Going forward I can see it becoming more and more difficult to get fair
representation of all aspects of our city as, as someone posted in another
site, we seem to have " A litmus test for ideology to become a member of the
club."
And the City Council has issues with the Administration not identifying people
who are not named for appointment to a board. This type of behavior is why at
least some of us would prefer to keep it that way - public humiliation is not a
recipe for getting more people to come forward and volunteer for anything,
