Holiday on 44th
Day:
Friday, December 7, 2007
Time:
6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Location:
44th Avenue North - from Logan to Upton Avenue
Come to the Tenth Annual Holiday on 44th - an old fashioned Camden celebration!
This event features live music, performing artists, hay wagon rides, visits
with "Father Christmas" and lots of food. An arts and crafts fair will be held
in the Patrick Henry High School gym. Watch for maps of all the events in local
businesses and in the Camden News.

Congratulations on a great event! I drove up to the north side for this to take
my friend's son (they're in the neighborhood) and I loved it that so many
people braved single digits to hang out around the fires and ride the
horse-drawn wagons--while singing carols. Guys with chainsaws carved ice
blocks. I had chestnuts roasted on an open fire for the first time in my life.
On a fun scale of 1 to 10, my 8-year-old friend said it was a 10.

Even though "Heart of the City" events are in hibernation, you can
still come up here to the Camden area of North Minneapolis and
celebrate. Holiday on 44th is Friday, Dec. 5th from 6:00-9:00. It
runs along 44th Av N from Morgan to Upton (Patrick Henry High to
Loring Community School). There are hay rides, jugglers, ice
carvers, a wood carver, marshmallow roasting, chestnuts etc on the
street. There's music, arts and crafts, face painting and community
tables at Henry; a magician, the Raptor Center show, face painting at
Loring; and more. Many of the businesses are open and the
restaurants have food deals for that night. It's great community
event, so I'm inviting you to come check it out.
