As you and I have had discussions on this and these issues for some time
now, I must insist that your well-based frustrations are clouding your
judgement a bit. To try to simplify a bit for those just entering the
subject, the RCS project is a Dover Ammendment issue. Once granted that
status, the town has very little control over the project, outside of
regular building zoning requirements. Law suits would be abound if the
town tried to further restrict how the project will look like or how it
will be built. AND, this has zero to do with the current election, outside
of overseeing what will legally happen in the coming months. The town has
basically had it hands tied behind their backs with this one. Thank the
State for that law years back. Other comments about a lack of purchase and
sale agreements are eronious too. There are more legs to this one than on
a centipede -- and unless you know ALL the facts, it is disingenuous at
best to comment this way. AND, Christine Long, a dedicated public servant
for years, has done everything at her legal power, to remedy any possible
outcomes. Christine Long even lives in the neighborhood. And she is NOT
planning on staying on the Planning Board, if elected to Councilor at
large. Nuf said?
