"It's time to take the next big step--SHUT HERC DOWN"
See Carol Overland's post on her blog: https://legalectric.org/weblog/16469/
As of now, this is scheduled to come before the PUC this Thursday (It
could be postponed). Meeting begins at 9:30. This is #2 on the
agenda. So far the "staff briefing papers" have reached 29
pages. All parties seem to agree that the HERC (= Hennepin County)
is being paid too much for the dirty power it produces. But of
course our concerns go far beyond that. Neighbors Against the Burner
has been recognized as an "intervenor" in the case and we will be
able to make some arguments on Thursday. (Members of the public may
or may not be allowed to speak. We can ask....)
Please consider commenting to that the HERC Power Purchase Agreement
should NOT be extended. Comments can be posted on the PUC's
"efiling" system or can be sent to me and I can file them for you.
