change over 30-50 years.
According to Prof. Speth the USA missed to opportunity to begin these
changes, when they were first suggested in the 1980's. He thinks that
was a great strategic mistake for the USA and for the world.
I imagine transitional city with eight major transitions to achieve.
To sustainable consumption. We must use less STUFF.
To competent participatory governance. Open - Transparent
To a controlled population policy. Who is a member?
To the use of appropriate green technologies. Strong Sustainability.
To a new consciousness of our place in on the planet, and in the community.
To a market with environmentally honest prices.
To learning and knowledge for everyone. University in every home.
To social and economic justice for all members. Rights and responsibilities.
My source for these ideas is Prof. James Gustave Speth, an American who
wrote βBridge at the Edge of the Worldβ. I have made my notes on this
book available here.

If we are to accept the challenge of rebuilding a NEW Christchurch, this
forum needs to grow much bigger. Please invite your friends to join. I
can't run 25 forums alone, I need your help.
This is not television. Every one of you has a say here. Help me, help
yourself, by being responsive to the posts.
If we can't have a conversation here, we can't decide what we agree
about, and somone else will make decisions for us. Each one of us is
responsible for what happens (and is currently not happening) here.
