This may be my first and last contribution to this forum as I am emailed out! I am George Architect + Tobacco Factory and Bristol Beer Factory. I am full of hope for this area having been involved since 1995 and in Bristol since 1965. Am willing to do anything I can to help improve it while encouraging a healthy social and commercial mix. I am sure we are the best chance for Bristol to produce an exemplar sustainable community that is kid friendly and therefore friendly for us all which is why the traffic problem is so important to deal with. I hope people are up for pushing the boat out on this so that we can have more civilised shared space pedestrian priority streets...and safer crossings etc. By the way please dont rely on getting a point or message directly to me via this forum as on current volume I may not read it. However if it was thought worthwhile having a get together to enable faces to be put to names I am sure we could do something at the Tobacco Factory sometime. It could even be fun! Hi George
I think a face-to-face for all those who would be interested in contributing
ideas for solutions to the parking / speeding / sustainable (beautiful,
inspiring, healthy) BS3 is a brilliant idea - especially if, as you suggest, we
approached it in a spirit of fun (whilst appreciating we do want to find
solutions, not daydreams).
Personally I'd like to see something that started with a question like "if BS3
was the most inspiring place you could imagine living in, what would it look
like & what would be so amazing about it". Solutions are serious things, and
need to be well thought out etc. but perhaps the process of unearthing the most
options possible to consider doesn't need to be serious at all? Some way of
hearing all voices as adding to our understanding, rather than competing, would
be very useful and help us plan for change more appropriately.
Anyway, if the Tobacco Factory is offering, I think there are enough people in
the forum (and many more not yet in the forum) interested in contributing.
Best wishes
Emma
