On Tuesday, November 7th the residents of St. Paul will select a new mayor and
“IT’S OKAY TO VOTE!”
In the last mayoral election, Mayor Coleman received 69% of the vote on
Election Day. But this is a false mandate, as only 33,876 out of 157,859
(registered voters) or 21.4% bothered to vote on Election Day. Mr. Coleman
received only 23,380 out of 157,859 or 14.8% of the registered voters in St.
Paul and this is NOT a mandate of the people.
People should be encouraged vote! The results of the last three mayoral
elections show a major historical lack of voter turnout, according to facts and
figures from the Minnesota Secretary of State.
So, “IT’S OKAY TO VOTE” in the upcoming election on November 7th and this
should be encouraged! If you don’t vote then don’t complain when your taxes go
up or you don’t agree with lets say Universal Trash Pickup and you lose your
trash company you have had for the last 30+ years.
So I am going to vote on November 7th and you should also!
I will see you all at the polls on Election Day (I hope at least)!
Take care,
John Krenik
