I went for a walk in the Fulton neighborhood this evening. I found a number of
light poles with a bright yellow 8.5" x 11" piece of paper stapled to them. It
read:
SOUTHWEST
JOURNAL
UNFAIR
LIBERAL BIAS
DIVIDING
OUR COMMUNITY
WITH EVERY ISSUE
What's up with that? Whose (conservative) ox did SWJ gore?
In my opinion, it's remarks like the poster that are more divisive than a
general or liberal bias. At least for a paper its size, the SWJ does better
investigative reporting than the Star Tribune.

Chris,
We've been seeing those signs since David Brauer was editor. I don't
even remember which story it was that originally set some (anonymous)
person off, but they started calling Brauer (without leaving a name)
and then started hanging those signs all over Southwest.
I wish they would come out of the closet and write a signed letter to
the editor. That would actually start a conversation and -- who knows
-- might bring about a change. I'm not sure what they hope to
accomplish by hanging signs like those, but I have heard from several
folks who have said that whatever we're doing to piss those people
off, keep doing it!
