*- Fri-Sun, Sept 12-14 Church of St. Helena's "Autumn Daze Festival"*
Entire community welcome. Activities include games of chance, games of
skill, live & silent auctions, used book sale, cash and quilt bingo, pull
tabs, beer garden, carnival rides, gift shop and marketplace. Fri, 6-10 pm;
Sat, 10:30-10pm; Sun 10:30-5pm. Parade through the neighborhood on Sat at

*- Sat, Sept 6, 10:00-4:00 p.m. "Everyone can be a Superhero" mural
painting at Dreamhaven Books.* The next mural in the SENA Graffiti Task
Force's "Take Back 38th Street Mural Project" This is a neighborhood project
painted by volunteers of all ages, and its main goals are to reduce
graffiti, build community, and provide a visual asset to all who live around
and travel 38th street. The design will be sketched out on the wall by the
artist this Thursday, and then everyone participates in painting in the
colors and nuances on September 6th! Don't be intimidated if you've never
done this sort of thing, there's plenty of guidance available from the

*- Tues, Sept 9, 7:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. Primary Election in Minneapolis*.
Minneapolis voters will cast ballots on Sept. 9, 2009 to determine
candidates for the General Election. The Primary includes both partisan and

*- Your chance to try out citywide wireless for free Today!.* The City of
Minneapolis, in partnership with USI Wireless and MySpace, declared today
(Wednesday, Sept. 3) as Free Wireless Wednesday, a day when visitors and
residents can log on to USI Wireless' citywide wireless network free of
charge until midnight. Anyone who can get a signal from the network will be
able to take advantage of this free service.
*- Auditions for the Morris Park Players' production of Fiddler on the Roof*
*coming soon*. Come to Folwell Middle School (corner of 36th St. and 21st
Ave.) on Sept 15 & 16, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. with one upbeat song to sing and
dressed to move. Call backs are Sept 17. Volunteer opportunities available
