future relationship with neighborhoods.* The public is invited to comment on
the Neighborhood Revitalization Program (NRP) Work Group's final report,
which recommends the focus, funding and governance of the NRP as well as
options for strengthening community engagement in all aspects of the City's

flooding: Storm water Pond & Other Solutions - presentation and discussion
with Minneapolis Public Works Department and Councilmember Colvin Roy*.
Discussion of solutions for storm water drainage, including potential
construction of a water quality and flood control pond in the green space at
the intersection of East 43rd Street and 19th Avenue South, as well as other
improvements. A Community Advisory Committee (CAC) will be formed to provide
the City with the community viewpoint on each solution considered. The
committee will meet August through October and a final recommendation should
be ready for presentation to the community by late October. Anyone
interested in serving on the advisory committee who cannot attend the
meeting August 25th should contact Bo Spurrier at 673-2455 or write to

- *Crime Alert: Reports of attempted theft of catalytic convertors from cars
around the intersection of 42nd & 28th Ave S have surfaced*. If you witness
any suspicious activity around vehicles people underneath vehicles at
night, metal-on-metal grinding, people carrying cordless reciprocating saws
where it doesn't seem they should need one call 911. Remember, if
something doesn't seem right to you, there's a good chance it isn't call
the police.

- *Midtown Farmers' Market Seeks Volunteers* "Do you love to shop at the
Midtown Farmers' Market? Have you ever wondered what keeps it running?
Consider volunteering a shift or two this season! The market needs
volunteers for all kinds of tasks, including helping with market set up and
clean up, answering questions at the market info table, helping with food
demos, and tabling at local events. If you have an interest in the
behind-the-scenes working of the market and want to contribute to its
ongoing success, consider serving as a member of the market's Advisory
Committee. Elections for new committee members will be held at our September
meeting. The Advisory Committee meets the third Wednesday of every month at
6:30 pm at the Corcoran Neighborhood Organization office at 3451 Cedar
Avenue South. Visitors are always welcome. You could also volunteer for the
Marketing and Events Committee which meets the second and fourth Wednesdays
