Regarding your candidacy for Minneapolis Ward 6 City Council, I am proud to
endorse you.
As a long time DFL volunteer and activist, and as a member of the
Democratic National Committee's (DNC) Disability Council, I enjoyed our
conversation this afternoon, and our earlier conversations last week. You
have my vote. Anyone who has been a part of the YMCA Youth in Government
program as a youth, and has continued strong leadership in the community as
you have, is a true fan of mine. You have been a community advocate since
your teenage years, and this has continued into your adult life.
That said, your previous leadership experience in the Minneapolis Park and
Recreation Board, where you currently serve as vice president, and
elsewhere in the City, as well as assisting Jacob Frey with his campaign,
your work as a leader in your neighborhood, and having developed a working
network of colleagues inside the Minneapolis City Council through your
years of advocacy and policy-making, have sold me on you. I look forward
to chatting with you throughout the year and hope that you will use
Facebook and e-democracy.org to campaign for the Ward 6 city council member
position!
I encourage my friends and neighbors in the Ward 6 and Cedar Riverside
community to vote for you on August 11, or before then! The
general election will be on November 3, and people can vote early if they'd
like.
AK Hassan: Win in August! AK Hassan: Win in November!
Yours sincerely,
Barry N. Peterson "Barry"
