The changes are felt in the most progressive areas first, I think. Movement
left is probably experimental. However, the circumstances of this removal is
probably a one off, due to the circumstances.

Both removals? There were two, Ms. Watermark Wittstock and the one you may be
forgetting is a frequent contributor to this forum, usually with useful, if
sometimes frustrating information.
I find it hard to say anything given Emelie's restrictions as I feel gagged and
hog tied.
If I were to hope for changes beyond what was stated in the Strib piece, one
would be to shift Minneapolis DFL endorsement to something more like a seal of
approval, i.e., all those running for office convince convention folks they are
Minneapolis DFLers get the right to say so in their campaigns while those that
don't, do not. That way, this recent Our Revolution takeover would not have
removed the best qualified from the race.

“this removal” referred to the circumstance. I was not saying only one was
removed.
Sorry if this was not clear enough.

Actually, Bill, I am confident your agile mind will find a large enough
loophole there to roll a mack truck through. I was kind of counting on
that to be honest.

Well, I am not sorry to see the change though both men have done the
Minneapolis DFL yeoman service whatever led to this (what we know of was
incredibly stupid, i.e., anyone in Ward 2 could have told him what he wanted to
know for free and the fact that he didn’t know means maybe he was never cut out
for the job; Laura is certainly right that we know little of the other removal,
that’s disturbing, and perhaps it was something stupid as well; happens to the
cleverest, I guess.).
As far as what happens to the Minneapolis DFL, I just don’t know. If the
changes lead to the defanging of folks who reliably control many things and
allows the kind of grassroots change most DFLers think is necessary, perhaps it
will be a good thing; however, I don’t see that happening very easily given my
twenty-odd years watching the Minneapolis DFL.
It is a relative handful of folks who can make anything good happen while most
of the rest seem not to have anything better to do than waste whole days and
hours of their time saying yay or nay, a few other handfuls of folks make bad
or useless things happen. We can go, suffer, and pat ourselves on the back as
we walk out of each caucus and convention, or not; I chose not and through
ranked choice voting and candidates who have also had enough of the status quo,
we might get some different sorts of Democrats into office.
That’s the way the party crumbles, I guess. At least we’re not Republicans;
what a curse that must be, but I guess we’ll never know as it is not in their
nature to tell us what they’re about (they just tell us what they think will
get their candidates into office and likely have some apparatus to try to do
this, just as clunky as the DFL's).
Is that better, Emilie? You are lucky to get any response at all with a thread
title like, “Comment?” A full or partial quote of the Strip article might have
been a better choice.
