party), you are eligible to sign nomination papers for Democrats who want to be
on the ballot for the September 4 primary election. Many people do not know
that candidates for US Senate, Governor, Lt. Governor, and Attorney General
need 10,000 certified signatures just to be on the ballot. Others positions
require 5,000, 2,000, 1,000, 300, or 150 signatures, depending on the office.
Signing these papers is not a commitment to support the candidates. In fact,
you can sign for any or all candidates running for the same office, if you
would like.
Papers for most Democrats running for the 2018 Massachusetts election will be
available for you to see and sign both Saturday, Feb 24 and Saturday, March 10
at the Natick Mall food court area from 9AM to 8PM. Also you can find a
signature drive at the Framingham Public Library Sunday, February 25, 1-4 PM,
Tuesday, February 27, 5-8PM, and Friday, March 2, 1-4 PM. More dates and
locations may be announced for following weeks. There will be some signatures
drives at grocery stores as well.
If you are registered in another party, please do contact your local officials
to see when you can sign those nomination papers. The candidates all
appreciate your help.
