Hi All!
This post is to invite you to join the Standish Ericsson Neighborhood
Association (SENA) as a volunteer. On September 15th, SENA will be holding its
Annual Meeting at the Hiawatha Park Rec Bldg, 6PM - 8PM. This is a great time
to meet other people in the community, learn about neighborhood issues and
visit informally with some of our public officials.
It is also a great time to learn how you can volunteer to make your
neighborhood a better place to live, work and play.
SENA is seeking volunteers to work on specific community issues through its
volunteer committees, as well as new members to sit on its Board of Directors.
From issues of housing, safety, grafitti, transportation, parks/environment to
you-name-it, SENA volunteers come up with solutions toward a better community.
So if you are interested, please attend the annual meeting (above) on Monday,
Sept 15th down at Hiawatha Park. We will have ice cream, coffee and music,
which is sure to be fun! It will also be a good time to visit, give your
input, and learn more about how you can make a difference.
Questions? Just ask! or contact SENA staff (Shirley and Bob) at 721-1601.
Regards, Lea
P.S. The SENA staff have asked me to tell you a bit about myself! I have
lived in the neighborhood for 15 years (see bio for more info) and have been on
the board for 3 years. I currently serve as the Board Vice President. It has
been a rewarding experience, because I know I am working for a cause that is
"near and dear" to me: my neighborhood! I have learned a lot about the city
and our neighborhood, and have been able to work with other volunteers to solve
community issues. The board members are all wonderful people. They are
creative, fun, and smart. Working with SENA makes me even more glad I live
here. I hope you will come and find out how you can get involved, too.
