near Worcester Street to protest the destruction of heritage buildings
in Christchurch, at lunchtime today. The protest was orderly and
cheerful. Several well prepared speakers addressed the crowd, and their
comments were eagerly listened too.
We are starved of REAL information about the city. "That's what the
barriers are for, said one protester, we can't get in and the
information can't get out."
There were many banners protesting the actions of Gerry Brownlee, and
none critical of Roger Sutton that I saw.
Two comments were shared with me:
"Roger Sutton has tried to resign as CEO of C.E.R.A. but Gerry Brownlee
holds him prisoner." ... "He's very unhappy."
I've also heard that members of the Citizens Forum, are being called
"The missing 39" because since the creation of that forum, those voices
have been silenced.
People were referred to the work of Kit Miyamoto, which I've posted
about here before.
(These links take you to the Christchurch Central Forum. The same post
may also be in your local forum.)

People were asked to protest on Facebook page's.
Write letters to the Press.
Write a real letter to your MP. (Emails are largely ignored.)
Tony Ward (A contributor to these forums) informed my about a lively
discussion on Trade Me.

Well, worth a visit. Easy to find. I opened about 40 different
discussions there. Lots of post, offering support to eachother, but
almost zero information shared. They're having the same problem we're
having, everyone is sitting in a darkend room. We know little or
nothing, except that the bad news is being kept from us.
We can also increase the number of people registered on this forum.
Invite your friends. We don't have the volume of posting that you can
see on Trade Me, nor on Facebook, but the quality of the information
here has been very good considering the little anyone can know.
Finally, the little you do know might be worth sharing here. You never
know how your little bit, added to a little bit from someone else, soon
begins to build a pattern we can all understand.
