I was kind of curious about for what folks in our forum are thankful.
I'm thankful we have a place to discuss things Minnesota as well as
topics in all the other e-democracy.org forums available to us (sure
wish there was a national MN forum available for broader issues). I'm
thankful for all the folks who participate and particularly so for
those who make it all possible.
As I related in another post today, I'm thankful for folks who work
(got to try that to improve my personal economic outlook; I'll be
thankful for a job, when I get one).
I'm thankful for the forays into alternative energy technologies
we're seeing in our state, particularly so for the direction the
paper mill down the road from me, Rock-Tenn in St. Paul, is taking
with biogas. They will burn mostly natural gas, off-set by gas
produced from various forms of agricultural biomass through anaerobic
digestion and pumped into the pipeline grid under contract, instead
of burning things like oil, coal, refuse derived fuel, or biomass for
their steam.
Dogs. I'm thankful for Minnesota dogs and their conscientious owners.
I'm not quite as thankful for cats, though.
I'll be thankful for the wonderful meal I'll have later today.

I posted this earlier today in a comment section:
""I am thankful we all woke up with heart beats this morning, especially my
son, Sgt. Tom, still serving in the Anbar Province at the Al Asad airbase.
He is doing quite well but has received modified orders for Afghanistan.
Can't say I'm thrilled about that, but it doesn't budge a bit my pride for
him, and the service of all our brave men and woman on this day!""
So I am Thankful for the brave men and women who are making the necessary
sacrifices to keep our country safe and secure! I also look forward to their
swift and complete return!

Where I come from (Seneca Nation) thanks are spread out over the year
from the new year to the first spring roots to the strawberries, to
the beans and squash and the green corn, to snow and the snow snake
games and again to the new year.
Thanks go to the sky and earth, to all living things which include
the rivers, lakes, seas, and mountains, which include the rocks and
trees and all the grasses and vegetation, which include all the
insects and birds and everything that flies, which include the
animals which are all our equals, which include ourselves.
We ask for the harmony of all living things. We ask that our lives
have meaning to our loved ones and to all living things. Our
possessions mean nothing, our lives mean nothing if we cannot find
ways to help others, to be kind to others, and to sacrifice for others.
Our grandmothers have taught us and we will teach others for the sake
of the children in the ground (unborn) and we tread lightly on the
ground because the children will come in the future for the sake of
all of us.
We put away war and concentrate our efforts on law making that will
benefit those seven generations ahead.
Oneh (that is all)

I am thankful for family and friends. I am thankful that we were able to
vote earlier this month, many countries cannot.
I am thankful for our farm. There are no words to describe how thankful I
am for my granddaughters.
I am thankful my daughter and her husband finally sold their house.
I am thankful I am free to go to church; not every country can do that
either.
My cup is more than full; it runs over.
