Retirement shouldn't happen like this, with an act of violence. But we need
to share it, talk about it, and prevent it from happening again. We need to
be vigilant and we need to watch over our neighbors more than ever. On
Wednesday, Anna's Tailoring was robbed. Two individuals came into her shop,
initially asking to use the bathroom, and then robbed Anna. They took her
phone, money, keys and left with her car. Two other individuals waited in
their vehicle until their accomplices took what they wanted, and then left.
For nearly 25 years, Anna hemmed and tailored our clothes to perfection.
Some of us knew she was heading into retirement come Spring, but none of us
thought it would be early, and definitely not like this. Anna is kind,
funny and extremely talented. She ran her small business with pride, and
she did it in the same place for a long time. She's seen many of our
wedding dresses, prom dresses and work clothes. She shouldn't have seen and
experienced this in our Community.
We are thankful for her service and hard work, but saddened she leaves our
neighborhood for retirement at the hands of criminals rather than her own.
Thank you, Anna. We are so sorry.
