I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to participate in this
online/email forum . . . especially those who have taken the time to think
about the issues we're facing here and to send in a response.
I apologize to those who have felt unsettled by the tone of the conversation.
It's hard to have conflict flare up unexpectedly in your Inbox. It's been hard
for all of us on some level. And email isn't an easy way to build trust or to
find consensus. I've been disheartened by the discussion personally. I don't
feel we're making progress. I feel my words twisted and hear others feel the
same way on all sides. As the volunteer facilitator trying to hold down a more
than full-time job and keep up with all this, I haven't had the time to try and
figure out how to help move us forward. I'm hoping some phone and in-person
conversations can help if people are committed to finding a way to move forward
together. I appreciate the way people are stepping up to try and figure out
what to do.
Many people are asking how they can limit the emails they are receiving.
You can choose to have one email sent a day with a summary of what's been going
on, or you can choose to only participate online and have no emails go to you.
Just go to the forum online and log in:
http://forums.3-demorcacy.org/pioneer-valley
Click on "Base Camp" in the left column, then click on "Email Settings"
Or you can also just click on this link to go right to the email settings once
you've logged in:
http://forums.e-democracy.org/groups/pv-basecamp/email_settings
You can also choose to unsubscribe to this group. Click on this link:
http://forums.e-democracy.org/groups/pv-basecamp
and choose the option: Click here to "leave Base Camp."
The people who generally participate in a forum are the ones who receive emails
when they are sent. So please hang in there if you can. These are important
issues. Maybe you'll be one of the ones to offer a way forward that will help
us all!
I'm viewing this forum as a meeting with 165 people attending. It's not
everyone, but it's a good group to try and work things out with. If we had
some ideas on how to move forward together, I believe it would make a
difference.
Thank you to everyone reading and weighing in on all sides of these complex
issues.
Sincerely,
Lynn
