Don't worry David - this isn't about the Senate race - it's about Minneapolis'
own Star Tribune.
For those of you who haven't been watching, this story is about one of Norm
Coleman's campaign contributors allegedly providing him with free clothes from
Nieman Marcus. His campaign issues "non denial denials" and refuses to answer
direct questions - such comically poor performances that they get thousands of
views on Youtube.
The story was first reported by Harpers and has been picked up by MSNBC - so
national MSM has picked this up. It's all over the internet - the Huffington
Post and many national blogs have reported on it. But so far, the only mention
in the primary newspaper in Senator Coleman's home state is a couple of lines
of excerpts in the Bloghouse section (tell me if I'm wrong but I did a search
cause I didn't think that could be true).
So my question is - what's going on? Is the Strib just so beset with cuts that
it can't afford to investigate a very local story of national interest, or (ii)
is this a reflection of the Strib's continuing rightward editorial tilt and an
advance clue as to who they will endorse for US Senate?
