Welcome to the Roseville Issues Forum.
You are getting this email, because you signed up for the Roseville Issues
Forum at one of the Roseville 2025 brainstorming sessions. If you have had
second thoughts about participating in the Roseville Issues Forum, please let
me know and I'll take your name off our email list - OR, change your
subscription to "web only."
I apologize for any confusing messages that came earlier today, we're still
getting the kinks out of the system.
The Roseville Issues Forum IS NOT YET officially open for business. You cannot
post messages to the forum. However, I will be posting a few announcements and
some introductory information - so that we are all ready for an official launch
sometime next week.
Please, don't bother "logging in" to the system or trying to post messages,
until I tell you its really time to start.
I'll be acting as the temporary "Forum Manager" for the Roseville Issues Forum.
More about that later.
Again - I'm sure you have many questions, which I'll try to answer over the
next 3-4 days. If you can't wait, please feel free to contact me privately:

Once again, welcome to the Roseville Issues Forum. Some of you might have signed up for the Roseville Issues Forum, without fully understanding of what it is. While I do like that kind of adventurous spirit, I'll do my best over the next 2-3 days to prepare you for what a Local Issues Forum is and how it works. If at any point, you have second thoughts about participation, you are welcome to "unsubscribe" yourself from this group or contact me for assistance. We plan to launch the Roseville Issues Forum later this week, until then I'll just continue to provide 2-3 messages per day with information and updates. The goal of the Roseville Issues Forum, is: "To provide a vibrant online space where residents, elected officials, and community leaders - with diverse ideas and backgrounds - can discuss the important issues facing our community in a civil and respectful manner." As we sometimes say, a Local Issues Forum is similar to an electronic town hall meeting where anyone can have their say, post a question, or share information - 24 hours per day. The Roseville Issues Forum works like a "listserve" or an online "bulletin board." Most people subscribe via email, which means that each member gets an email copy of every post to the discussion. If you wish to reply to a topic, you simply send your email reply/message to: <email obscured> (this will work when we launch) PLEASE NOTE: That once the Roseville Issues Forum gets going, you may receive anywhere from 3-15 messages a day (all of which are identified with [RIF] in the subject line. To reduce the amount of incoming email, you may choose to get a single daily "digest" of topics or turn off the email delivery and simply browse messages via the web. http://forums.e-democracy.org/Roseville/groups/roseville-issues If you know someone who might be interested in joining the Roseville Issues Forum, please send them to: http://forums.e-democracy.org/Roseville/groups/roseville-issues More information to come..... Best wishes, Tim Erickson Forum Manager (Temporary) Roseville Issues Forum 651-643-0722
Welcome to the Roseville Issues Forum (Again): I've just added another 50 participants to the forum and we are getting close to an official launch. See membership list at: http://forums.e-democracy.org/Roseville/groups/roseville-issues/members Please, keep in mind that once we launch, you'll likely get an initial flood of email from the Roseville Issues Forum. All messages from the forum will start with "[RIF]" in the subject line. I recommend having these messages filtered to a separate email box, if you know how (if not, feel free to contact me). Once the forum is in operation for a few days, the email traffic will slow down, but you can expect to get anywhere from 3-10 messages from the forum on an ongoing basis. If you need help removing yourself from the forum, please email or phone me (contact info listed below). Please, feel free to delete messages from the forum, if the subject line does not interest you or if you are simply too busy. Being a member of the forum DOES NOT obligate you to read everything posted to the forum. BUT, it does give you the opportunity to see what your fellow Rosevillians are thinking about important issues, if you so choose to read their messages. We'll probably start with a round of introductions, along with thoughts on what some of the most pressing issues/opportunities are facing the city of Roseville. This will help us generate a list of possible topics for future discussion in the forum. Watch for further instructions. We will be coming up on the one year celebration of the existence of the
Roseville Issues Forum, RIF. That's been a long time since we have had any
type of introductions from people. I know that the membership has been
slowly building. I thought that it would be nice to have a little spot
where people might want to drop a post to say hello and introduce yourself
if you are new or haven't taken time to say hello. Along with your
introduction, maybe a word or two about your ideas of the RIF.
My Introduction:
My name is Ken Yokanovich. I was recently appointed the forum manager. I
don't think of myself as possessing any particular talents for the position,
but I WAS willing to step forward and attempt to help out. I am 36,
married and madly in love with my wife (my best friend) since August of
1996. We have two beautiful and wonderful daughters ages 10 and 7. We
have lived in Roseville for coming up on 8 years. By a large margin, my
wife is much more social than I am. She is pretty active in volunteering
with our neighborhood school Falcon Heights Elementary. I look forward to
participating and getting more involved with the happenings in Roseville to
see if I can offer something to make the place that we live in a little
better.
My Thoughts on the Roseville Issues Forum:
I am very interested in the idea of a forum. I think that it could be a
great opportunity for more people to participate, discuss, and to have a way
to be connected and involved in the happenings of the place that we
live. For those of us who hold down a household, jobs, and busy life
schedules, maybe a way to reach out? Hopefully, we as members of
the community that we live in will feel comfortable and can come up with
constructive ideas and discussions and use this format to share.
