Written by local playwright Christina Ham for SteppingStone, Ruby! is a
powerful musical adaptation of the courageous American historical figure Ruby
Bridges-- for all ages. Join Ruby as she, as a senior in high school, takes us
back in time through her first year at William Frantz Elementary. As a first
grader, Ruby was the first African American child to integrate the white
elementary school in 1960 New Orleans.
This year's production comes with uncanny timing at a point in our nation's
history when we all could use another lesson in tolerance. Join us for a
cultural experience you and your family won't soon forget.
