Wondering if anyone who was able to attend the community meeting about the plans for the charter school on the Rainbow site knows what the proposed plans are for the Schooner Tavern?
Anne - I just chatted with David Wellington of Wellington Management today for an upcoming story in the Longfellow/Nokomis Messenger about the Rainbow site. I asked him about Schooner Tavern, and he pointed out that it isn't part of the land they own. Read more details about the entire project in the next Messenger. :)
My best recollection is that Wellington said they had tried to purchase the property, but were unsuccessful. One of the property owners happened to be in attendance and said he has not been contacted by Wellington yet. Wellington responded that they had been in touch with a different individual. The property owner who was in attendance said he was willing to talk further to Wellington about selling the property.
