I move that the Executive Committee of St. Paul E-Democracy:
1) Commit ourselves to raising $5000, within the next 3 months, to
support the acquisition of a CTEP member to do outreach work from
Sept 2007 - August 2008.
2) That we HOLD $2000 of existing funds (including the planning
grant) in reserve, in case we fall short of our fundraising goal.
3) That we authorize Tim Erickson to arrange office space for the
CTEP member at a cost of $1500 or less, per year (renting on a
month by
month basis).
4) That in case we are unable to raise the full amount, we ask
E-Democracy.Org to back this commitment above and beyond the
$2000 of uncommitted funds that we currently have on hand.

I realize that this motion if passed will commit us to harder (or smarter, or
both) work in the fundraising area than we have done so far. I think this is a
"seize the moment" opportunity for us, because I think having a full-time
volunteer pursuing our goals will really increase our capabilities. I know
that in the preliminary discussions Tim made a commitment to make a significant
personal financial contribution, in the event that other fundraising fell short
of meeting this obligation. I will commit to matching Tim's personal
contribution, under the same conditions. And I second his motion.
