Is anyone else's tap water stinky the last few days? I know this often happens
in the fall and the spring- from the leaves and other things. I have also heard
the stinky water is safe to drink. I am just curious if that is current
explanation or if we might have a plumbing issue...

I have not noticed the odor but have in the past noticed more chlorine in the
water. I do know that in my area the water is very rusty at times. Our
neighbors have complained about it but nothing has been accomplished yet.

I keep a pitcher of water in the refrigerator to use, and find that water that
is chilled like that, and has been sitting open doesn't seem to smell funny.
And I've never noticed a difference in the taste, even when it smells.
So far, I haven't noticed it this Fall. I did earlier this year, though.

We had some old steel piping that we replaced this year with copper. Our water
hasn't been as stinky this year as other years. We still run our water through
a faucet filter for drinking. We would usually notice stinky water when we
washed dishes.
