Oh, that's right, if you actually get to know people, you can no longer
demonize them. Can't have that can we?
And, by the way, grading people on their writing and attempts at
discussion is rather condescending.

Let me see if I've got the rules down. Supporters of Don Samuels can post
things like.....
"Zei gezunt, Mr. Nolley, but please go back to playing your lyre."
and...
"[KB] If by "the people" you mean anyone posting on this list, you're as
confused as Mr. Nolley, and you should form a lyre duo with him to make
better music. You're off-key here."
But responding by saying...
"I give your posts a C+. A couple extra points for the music references."...is
condescending.
Apparently only Samuels supporters are allowed to be condescending.
There's a poster on this forum who writes entire thread titles personally
attacking other forum members but not much opposition to that apparently.
I've got a pretty thick skin. I can take a few barbs, but if someone is going
to dish it out, they should also be prepared to take it. This is a hallmark of
the Don Samuels campaign, for example.....
Local media constantly portrays Ilhan as out of touch. One station even aired
a story about the conspiracy theory about her marrying her brother and so
forth. But make any reference to the boy who drowned in the Mississippi while
under Don's care and suddenly everyone is OUTRAGED that you're using that to
attack Don.
Also off limits were Don's votes on the city council to dismantle the civilian
review and his statement that North High should be burned down. We're not even
allowed to talk about Don saying that he wants people to see that he lives in
the Big House.
...but Ilhan Omar is an anti-Semite, funded by George Soros no less and too
close to Bernie Sanders.
Furthermore, apparently Don didn't have time to get out his message despite
millions in ad buys and absurdly biased local media coverage with the Strib and
Frey going all out for Don.
So the rules are that it's ok to brand Ilhan as an anti-Semite, but we're not
allowed to point out the numerous spewing of anti-Semitic conspiracy theories
(usually involving Soros) among Don's supporters. Got it. Also not allowed to
point out that Congress has nothing to do with local public safety and that the
whole premise of Don's campaign (defund the police) was entirely irrelevant to
the office he was seeking.
Even though Ilhan won, we're supposed to act as if she lost. Don really won.
Only Don's supporters are allowed to use condescending insults and we're not
allowed to criticize Don's actions, his statements or his record - but any
criticism of Ilhan, even wacko conspiracy theories are fair game.
You know, I'm fine with that. I'll play by those rules if I must.
Don still LOST.

"I would like to see Don Samuels run in the general election against Omar. I
think he can beat her in a popular general election. The minuscule margin of
victory by the incumbent in the party primary does not show a progressive
mandate within the Democratic Party. Far from it. Run Don Run!"
Tamir writing.
Maybe he should.
Perhaps there's still time to convince Cecily Davis to step aside. The GOP
central committee has been known to override a popular primary before and Don
Samuels might be the one candidate that could give Republicans a chance in the
5th district.
I'd almost have more respect for Don if he did that. That's what Norm Coleman
eventually did. The mask came off and we saw Norm for who he really is, but he
did end up in the U.S. Senate. Don might have a better shot in the GOP.
Another possibility would be to try and get the endorsements of one of the two
marijuana parties, but that might be difficult as Don doesn't actually support
the legalization of marijuana. Probably not a good fit for Don.
Finally, Don could decide to run a write-in campaign.
This would be difficult to pull off, but it's not impossible. It would damage
his credibility however and he would be playing in the same sandbox as Davis.
I think he should try to work out something with the Republicans. Of course if
you really can't stand Ilhan you can vote for Davis. Perhaps Don and Jacob
Frey should endorse Ms. Davis.
Personally I'm happy with my representation. Ilhan is the candidate that
represents my views.
