for no good reason. We hear that "It's only $50 a year" . That
presumably comes from people who won't be paying the tax or who don't
work very hard for their money. For those of us living on Social
Security and savings, and who can hardly afford to live in our houses
already, $50 can sometimes be a lot of money. And who thinks that the
tax won't go up? Can anybody name a tax that didn't go up? Class? Anybody?
It's a slush fund. Who is going to decide what to spend the money on? Do
you trust them?
We all love open spaces, right? How many of you have taken advantage of
the hundreds of acres of open space we already have? And for both of you
who did, do you need any more open space?
Preserve historical building? The people who built those building would
have you carted off to the funny farm for not tearing them down and
replacing them with the best available technology, which is what they
did when they built them.
This is just another chance for people to pat themselves on the back for
being progressive. And for making Framingham unafordable for people who
have to pay their own way.
