Why is the money going into a 16-story building with 341 apartments, when for
$105M, you could build 350 $300,000 owner-occupied homes? Where does the $105M
come from and where does it go? Does anyone working at Republican billionaire
Glen Taylor’s sad excuse for a newspaper ever bother the follow the money? Why
does this Star Tribune real estate coverage fail to provide any detail of the
financing for this $105M project? Is the Kraus-Anderson “Family of Companies”
dipping into corporate profits to come up with the $105M or are they feeding on
an abundance of corporate welfare to get the money? How much of the $105M is
tax-exempt government bonds, TIF property tax deferments, and debt-driven tax
write-offs? How much of the $105M is actual construction costs – land, labor,
building materials, tools, etc. - and how much is fees paid to the
Kraus-Anderson “family” of construction contractors, real estate developers,
property managers, financiers, and insurance agents?

Maybe if Minneapolis had a newspaper that paid journalists to do reporting
rather than a rag owned by a billionaire who publishes propaganda for large
corporations like Kraus-Anderson, we might get some answers to these $105M
questions.
