The SENA office received a post card announcement from Council Member Colvin
Roy's office about a Community Meeting re:
Lake Hiawatha Water Quality and Flooding: Storm Water Pond & Other Solutions.
August 25th, 7:30-9 p.m. @ Lake Hiawatha Park Building
I have posted the information on the SENA website -you can link from the front
page - www.standish-ericsson.org (I will also attach a file here.)
From the postcard:
"Recommendations from the 1998 report, including construction of a water
quality and flood control pond in the green space at the intersection of East
43rd Street and 19th Avenue South, as well as other improvements, will be
studied before a final solution is recommended."
A Community Advisory Committee will be formed to make a final presentation to
the community in late October. You can find more details in the file or on our
website.

I'am writing on the site to let people know what has been going on the
past two weeks at our business on 27th and 42nd(Flanery Brothers Auto).
I'm not sure if I'm going about this the right way to get the message
out to all that need to know the scoop, but am trying for the first
time to e-mail here...not very computer savvy!
We have had 2 incidents in the past week at the station where cars were
vandalized and want everyone to keep an eye out at their own places and
at your neighbors for the vandals. They are using portable saws and
attempting to steal catalytic converters out of cars....they may have
possibly had the cars jacked up to gain access... and they were parked
right in front of the station in plain sight. They must have been
scared off somehow, because they didn't succeed in getting the
converters out, but it is costly to repair the damages, even when they
just make the attempt. We just wanted to pass the word and make people
aware of the problem. Thanks for your time- Brian and Tim Flanery
