Reminder: The full Park Board votes this Wednesday, August 3, on whether to
schedule a full hearing on the ecological 9-hole compromise plan. This week's
vote is a procedural vote to advance to the next stage - a full public hearing,
which would be held later in August or in early September.
Please let the Park Board commissioners know that you want them to vote YES on
holding a full hearing on the 9-hole compromise plan, and that you want them to
vote YES on the plan itself. Here are 3 ways to do that:
(1) Speak briefly (usually 1 minute) in person at the Park Board meeting. Open
time is at 5:30 pm. You can reserve a spot to speak by calling 612-230-6400
before 3 pm on the day of the meeting (Aug. 3). You can also sign up in person
before the meeting starts. The Park Board meetings are held at their
headquarters at 2117 W. River Road in Minneapolis (north of downtown). Meetings
begin at 5 pm.
(2) Send comments to be included in the record and shared with commissioners by
e-mailing your thoughts to <email obscured> before noon on the day
of the meeting.
(3) Email individual commissioners. In particular, you might want to encourage
Commissioner Billy Menz and Commissioner Elizabeth Shaffer to vote YES. They
can be reached by emailing <email obscured> and
<email obscured>. All commissioner email addresses are available
on the Park Board website at:
