competition for K. Ellison in Nov. From: Annie Young Date: May 15 16:52 UTC Short link
I am passing this on in reference to other e-mails yesterday that the GP may
have a candidate for Congress.
Quote:
Farheen is the only candidate who will be up for endorsement at the
meeting this Saturday. The 5CD screening committee will be presenting
the results of an interview and written questions as per 5CD rules.
Adri announced his intention to run for the US House at the March 5cd
membership meeting, but has not been screened as yet.
No other candidates have announced their intention to seek the 5cd Green
Party's endorsement as far as I know (being on both the endorsement and
screening committees).
For those interested,
Annie Young
GP Endorsed Officeholder

Ellison in Nov. May I point out that the Endorsing Meeting for 5th District candidates isn't being held until this Saturday, May 17th. So depending on endorsement, the GP may or may not have a candidate for the 5th CD seat. Since this is a Minneapolis list I can promise you that he or she will not be anything less than a strong 2nd in the city (and given the nature of this year the whole 5th). Moreover, it has been my fair impression that Independents of most sorts are quite libertarian on social issues. Of course the real question in Minneapolis is how many Republicans we win over ;-) as it was the last time around. I bet it will be even more. > > Peter Tharaldson > 5th Chair, Independence Party > Loring Park > > >David Brauer <<email obscured>> wrote: > Wizard writes, of Barb White: > >"We might have poll watchers who say, 'You got to stand up straight, be sober and be able to read the ballot,''' she said. > >Me: > >I must've missed the posture and sobriety tests in the Constitution.
