The following letter to the editor in today's PPress is an interesting idea!
Too
bad the writer is not a member of this forum (yet).
"Housing for convention-goers
The Republican National Committee's need for local housing during the 2008
convention in the Twin Cities is critical and is expensive. To help relieve the
need
and to reduce excessive rental costs, the RNC should rent homes currently in
foreclosure...."

What does the mayor, council, and realty community think of this idea?
I would think that there are downtown condos, etc, that are also under
foreclosure.
Since the current national administration is at least partially responsible for
the
the current economic/mortgage crisis, the least the RNC can do is try to help
out
some in this token effort. I believe the Democratic Party should also consider
this
in the Denver convention. It would be a bipartisan benefit for all.
