Hi all. Sorry there was no post last week. We had a great video workshop this
past Monday anyway, featuring the Minnesota Minute contest from the Bell Museum
(see http://bellmuseum.org/blog/?p=6). Coming up, we have a Blogging workshop
on June 2, followed by a Podcasting workshop on June 9.
---UPCOMING WORKSHOP: BLOGGING---
Our June 2 workshop is on blogs and blogging (a blog being a website consisting
mainly of dated posts arranged chronologically). Come learn the basics of
using Blogger or Wordpress (depending on audience interest) to maintain a
simple, free blog or website. We will also introduce concepts such as content
management, widgets and really simple syndication (RSS), all of which will be
important in upcoming workshops.

FREE WORKSHOP
Date : Monday, June 2nd
Time : 7:00 - 8:30 PM
Location : Rondo Community Outreach Library
461 North Dale
University & Dale, St. Paul
As always, the workshop is free and all are welcome to attend.
Full workshop schedule available online:

Contact <email obscured> with questions.
---PREVIOUS WORKSHOP: ONLINE VIDEO---
Our recent workshop was on online video, and was largely based around the
outline on the following page: http://pages.e-democracy.org/Online_Video .
While we focused on YouTube, there are numerous other online video websites
out there; see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_sharing_websites for
a comprehensive list.
---DAILY PLANET WRITERS' GROUP---
In other news, The Twin Cities Daily Planet (tcdailyplanet.net) has an ongoing
writers' group at Rondo Library during our regular tabling time, starting at 4
pm. According to the Planet's website, you can "bring something you’re working
on to share with the group, or just come to get ideas and/or assignments." I
would also like to add that the writers' group is frequently done by 5:30 or
so, making it very easy to go to both the writer's group and our upcoming
Outreach meeting.
---E-DEMOCRACY WORKSHOPS FOR YOUR GROUP---
Finally, St. Paul E-Democracy would like to widen our audience by doing a
couple of our workshops each month "off site." If you have a group that would
be interested to host one of our workshops, please contact
<email obscured> . A rough list of workshops is available at
http://pages.e-democracy.org/SPED-Outreach .
Thanks for reading, and see you Monday.
