Election of New Executive Committee Members

The terms of a number of committee members are ending at the end of February
and it appears that at least a few of the existing committee members will not
be standing for reelection or seeking reappointment. All of this means that we
need to begin recruiting candidates to stand for election or for the appointed
positions. At today's committee meeting (January 9) it was determined that we
would begin this process by asking all existing committee members to compile
lists of likely candidates immediately. Well before the next monthly meeting,
Tim will call a special meeting to combine these lists, discuss the names and
arrange to contact the people agreed upon.
Of course, the election will be publicized and nominations for the elected
positions will be accepted from the general membership. However, past
experience indicates that an active recruitment effort will be necessary to get
a decent slate of candidates.
So, please begin to compile your lists.
