Greetings all,
Hope everyone had a good 4th ... despite 'unauthorized' fireworks.
Public hearings :
Met Council - proposed transit fair increases.
No school, park or library meetings listed on websites.
Henn.co. libraries is in the process of developing a hybrid community
engagement process for Mpls library capital projects and procedures...somewhere
between the Mpls system of widespread community/n'hood assnparticipation and
the county's input process. Nokomis Library will be first Mpls. example of
hybrid process. First NK library meeting last year was under Mpls rules which
no longer apply.
County planetarium work force had first meeting. Lots of study
questions...where to put it (burb, downtown), with whom to partner and how to
cover an operating deficit (common to all planetariums). More meetings to come.
Decision in August.
If they are up-to-date, check your n'assn website for park updates/plans. Not
always listed on pk bd home page but n'assns are notified. Last week a public
info meeting was held on the large Minnehaha Park infrastructure project (state
$ authorized this year). While Grand Rounds was listed, Minnehahawas not.
best wishes,
cheryl luger
