forums. Why not in your area too?
Strawberries, raspberries, lily of the valley, day lilies, phlox, etc.
are all plants I've shared with my neighbors via my local online
community forum.
Heck, I am even swapping banana tree sprouts (I wintered them indoors)
for someone with Zone-busting bamboo in their yard thanks to a
connection made on my neighborhood forum.
* Plant Swap 2012 - Let's Grow Together
It is simple, if you have plants to share - just "reply to all" via
e-mail or add your text via the web site. You can even attach photos
like the one I just took with my phone of things I plan to share.
If you are seeking various plants from your neighbors, posting your
wish list has worked great too.
http://Wikipedia.org often has great links on specific plants if you
are trying to show people what something is that you have to offer (or
desire).
To see what's being shared across all our forums (and how cool
neighbors connecting with neighbors can be), try these searches:

With the idea of "community life exchange" new on many of our
neighbors/community forums, I encourage you to give it a try.
Let's make being connected online with neighbors fun, engaging,
and useful.

P.S. One other search:
#plants

(For those who use Twitter, this (#plants) is a unique keyword or
hashtag, if you want your post to be easily found across neighborhoods
(and via Twitter where we feed subject lines too), we too can use
hashtags on our site.
