I think nearly everyone has addressed it at some point in some thread (never
mind these threads always start with some rhetorical finger pointing at
something and a tacit, âSee what I mean,â when no one has any notion of what he
means because he canât rightly explain it), Diggitt (well, except some new
arrivals); just silly to say otherwise.
What on Earth did anyone expect to happen when such a reporter from Breitbart
comes to the town of Berzerkeley (a nickname of endearment left over from the
Free Speech Movement days of the Sixties)? It could very well be that the
Breitbart folks brought their own provocateurs as their goals would be served
weather the man spoke or not. Thatâs the plan, after all, from the top on down
amongst these fine upstanding Americans: they have to tear down this country,
just like the Berlin Wall eventually went down as Ronald Reagan exhorted
Gorbachev to, in order to bring in the new world order, âcause it is no good,
no good at all. They see what our country has become, they see their path
clearly, and they know that a non-thinking and vocal part of societyâyes, I
mean the âdeplorables' who believe all of their liesâare behind them 100%.
The problem is, the Trump/Breitbart/Bannon folks are right. It has not been
good here for a long, long time and neither the GOP nor the Democratic Party
has had any notion of repairing our democratic republic, not even now. We
needed to shock the system and bring down the rotten infrastructure of the
Congressional Military Industrial Complex built to run the large sums of cash
through itself to perpetuate its existence just as Dwight Eisenhower said it
would if we did not stop it a half a century ago. It happened; and given that
it did, that the GOP successfully Gerrymandered the whole country, that the
Democrats gave us a seemingly unchastened Hillary Clinton (it is true, Bernie
likely would have won with relative ease), and that the GOP could not stop an
ignorant Donald Trump, now we stand to lose it all as Trump repopulates âthe
swampâ with billionaire after billionaire (those, unlike him, willing to divest
of their holdings). Still, the answer is not to form a Fourth Reich.
Our country may yet prevail as it has for centuries and more, but it is going
to go through some change that some of us thought could never happen in a true
democratic republic, i.e., we could not "keep it" as Benjamin Franklin set the
challenge to Mrs. Powel outside Independence Hall at the U.S. Constitutional
Convention of 1787. Or can we?
Congress can fix this right now. The House can impeach (any of the recent
unlawful executive orders will do if they donât the corruption or treason
angles), the Senate can convict President Trump, and they can put amendments to
the Constitution before the state legislatures for ratification to fix our
electoral and campaign finance system to put the people, real people, first. If
they donât, state legislatures can call for a Constitutional Convention of
2017.
This is it. It is time to put this country right.
