Wednesday. By a vote of 7-0, the council approved a resolution recognizing
March 10 as Abortion Providers Appreciation Day in St. Paul....The resolution
specifically recognizes the memory of Dr. David Gunn, an abortion provider shot
and killed on March 10, 1993 in Florida...The resolution states: βThe Supreme
Court of the United States now contains a majority of Justices who may not
interpret the Constitution to provide protection for the right to end a
pregnancy and may overturn or severely limit Roe v. Wade...β (StP PP:

The City Council does not like laws being passed elsewhere, and invokes a
decades-old murder as a rationale? And they object to the ideology of the
Supreme Court?
It's tiresome, anti-democratic and needlessly divisive.
The St. Paul City Council is doing a poor job on many core tasks which *are* in
their jurisdiction.
"WHEREAS, abortion providers and the clinic staff who support them and their
patients are an essential and valued part of Saint Paulβs health care..."
At least why not promote something uplifting to the City? Why not recognize all
our health care workers?
