As a newbie to the forum I want to inform the community about a January 30th
public meeting.
The Bruce Vento-Mississippi River Connection Task Force would like your ideas
and input on how best to connect the Bruce Vento Regional Trail and the Bruce
Vento Nature Sanctuary to the Sam Morgan Trail. After evaluating a range of
options, the task force has selected two alternatives for additional study and
consideration: 1) a single pedestrian/bicycle bridge over both rail lines and
Warner Road; and 2) a shorter bridge over the rail lines combined with a
tunnel under Warner Road. Both options would directly connect the new Bruce
Vento Nature Sanctuary with Lower Landing Park along the Mississippi
riverfront.

Cerenity Care Center
200 Earl Street, St Paul
(in the Mounds Park neighborhood)
Roger that. The BVNS is a great place, and connecting the trails will be a
golden spike moment, and this one won't be in Utah! I'm planning on stopping
by tomorrow, but the Wild are on TV at 7:00. Does this care center get
FauxSportsNet? I could watch a period with the old-timers, as long as they
don't have the volume cranked up to 11.
Actually, I have some experience pushing wheelchairs over bridges, so I'll pick
their brains during stoppages in play. For all I know, East Side wheelchairs
these days are all-wheel-drive Swedish jaabs, and so the new bridge could have
cattle grids and the Krumblies could still wheel themselves across to the
river. (We can't just have wild cattle crossing from BVNS into Lower Landing
Park.) I think a properly licensed senior could wheel himself all the way from
the care center to Island Station and beyond! On a trail! I could dig that
when I'm too ancient to be driving on the roads.
Do you actually need to be pedally-challenged to drive a nice wheelchair? When
does a wheelchair become a roadster? Could we close the Trails for a day and
have a Grand Prix Wheelchair Race? Look what that one race did for Monte
Carlo's economy.
Bring plenty of Post-it Brand Repositionable Notes (the grid kind) - I've got
even better ideas than that! It will be good to see you again, Roger. Welcome
to SPIF. Beware the new Forum Manager!
