great excuse.
Make home-made signs for Voting NO on the marriage amendment and Voter ID - and
YES once for Saint Paul Kids if you're so inclined.
It's Friday at 123 West Isabel Street 6-9pm. (there is also on East Isabel so
please map it West accordingly) My home is located on Saint Paul's West Side -
code 55107
I'll have some sign making materials available but feel free to get your
creative juices flowing with left over cardboard boxes, carving pumpkins,
bottle caps, coat hanger bending, and ??? Ask your kids/teens what they think
might be fun.
I have some glow in the dark paint and chalkboard paint we could use and I plan
to stop by ArtScraps for more materials.
If you don't feel artistic in this manner but just want to gather for the
community and food, you're welcome. Tell a friend and make the message grow. I
firmly believe community is best built face-to-face and with both savory and
sweet dishes to share. E-Democracy is obviously a bonus tool, but bonds can be
made stronger in person. Let the sparks of imagination and intelligence fly.
A reporter from the Saint Paul Pioneer Press wants to take photos of this event
for some reason. It may be that I've always questioned whether or not yard
signs are effective in campaigns. My theory is that they might be more
effective if they're home-made, preferably with humor. You may also see the
invite on my facebook page - I opened it to the public.
All the best to you this season if for some reason, you can't attend (say, MEA
weekend away? - Lucky you)
