spring, much of the topsoil was washed away. A lot of bare spots
on the blvd needed to be reseeded. My husband made a big mistake
by purchasing a very expensive grass seed. It was beautiful when
it first started growing and was the most gorgeous shade of
green. Then the severe drought came late summer and we watered
the grass constantly to just keep it alive. Some of the grass
survived and at least partially covered the blvd.
Now that school started, my corner lot has all the school kids
waiting for the bus, which the past few years has been around ten
kids..which is fine, but this year there are at least thirty!!!
They tear up my bushes and flowers and run like maniacs
constantly and have completely killed all the grass now.
All the kids walk down to my corner from the low income
apartments up the street from me. They walk down accompanied by
two pregnant women, who do not discipline any of the kids. That
is a ridiculous increase of number of children in just one year.
Being from the low income apartments, I assume they are getting
some government assistance.
All this brought me to the realization that my Northend
neighborhood has at least tripled in population in one year.
My request to all candidates is to help control or at least
discourage everyone from having huge families. Not just because
of the money it costs taxpayers, but because of overpopulation.
It is frightening when you read the facts about it. Please see
this webpage:

Here are a couple of scary facts:
. During the 20th century alone, the population in the world
has grown from 1.65 billion to 6 billion.
. In 1970, there were roughly half as many people in the
world as there are now.
The world population has reached 7 billion!!!
This planet is not capable of feeding that many. With droughts
destroying millions of acres of farmland, it will become, and has
become a serious problem worldwide.
Even if there were no food shortage problems, overpopulation
ruins the quality of life for everyone.
To be honest, I do not know what can be done about this problem
or where to start.
All the complaining about candidates putting signs up illegally,
does not even touch what negative impact that overpopulation is
causing.
Of course, people always wait until it is beyond fixable before
any action is taken.
To all people of every race..quit breeding like rats.
