occasional poster. As an employee at the school where his kids attend, I found
out that he died Sunday. His blog has a lot of info about his illness and
having been on a waiting list for a liver transplant, but I don't know any
details of his final days.
Whether you ever agreed with him politically, he was an interesting read,
especially through his struggles with alcoholism and the illness which
followed. At one point he decided not to edit/delete his posts once posted,
though some were clearly influenced by physical pain and medication. But one of
his reasons for writing was that he knew his life was not going to be a long
one, and he wanted to get as many thoughts and experiences recorded for his
kids to read when he was gone.
