PioneerPress the other day. In a nutshell, coach Scott Howell kicked 7 of 12
players off the team for ongoing bad attitudes, skipping practices & generally
not earning the right to play on the same team as the young men who were doing
things the right way.
He replaced a couple of them with JV players, but still had to go with only
seven players instead of twelve. At that point many wrote Central's season off,
but the "Iron Seven" found way to get to the state tournament for the first
time since 2000, despite not having the depth of players, the experience or the
size. Really a life lesson about discipline, hard work & doing things the right
way. If I had a son, I'd want him to play for Coach Howell.
