community -- being present and listening to what neighbors had to say as well
as introducing the forum to new members and partners. Thank you for so
graciously welcoming our team. Your participation and encouragement reminded us
of how important it is for a neighborhood to have a space to connect -- even
online -- to share stories, ask questions and build community. This year, we
plan to continue getting to know all of you and being even more visible in the
neighborhood.
Sadly, however, this marks my last week as the Outreach and Information Leader
for the Greater Frogtown Neighbors Forum. After much thought, I have decided to
resign from my role on the team in order to focus on my graduate school studies
and my family. This does not mean that I will be completely gone from the
forum; I will take on a much smaller supporting role and post on occasion. The
bulk of our work in 2011, however, will be done by someone else. Please
continue to log on to our website and/or watch your e-mail inboxes for an
announcement about a replacement.
During the staff transition, I hope you will continue to use the forum. If I
may, I would even challenge you to increase your engagement with the forum.
This is a tool that belongs to the community, after all. You are the ones who
keep it going. Feel free to send us a note or post here what you think we can
do to improve the forum.
Finally, I have put together a blog that summarizes some of the things I have
heard from some of you. I hope I was able to capture your thoughts accurately.
We intend on applying the lessons we learned in 2010 to strengthen and improve
our work in 2011. I owe a huge amount of gratitude to those who gave me an hour
or two of their time to provide input.
