job is to find new sources and stories for us to cover. I've followed (i.e.,
lurked on) the Mpls and St Paul Issues Forums for several years, and have
pitched topics that have come up in them to reporters. But I'd like to be more
open -- this below the surface thing is tough, and I'm a fan of fresh air.
I'd like to post occasionally on the Greater Frogtown Neighbors forum to ask
for your insights when we're working on stories that are relevant to you. You
know your neighborhood, and we can certainly learn from you. I'll provide
background on the story we're doing, and include a link to an online form where
you can share what you know. When you respond, you'll become one of our Public
Insight news sources. We read all responses, and pass along themes, story
ideas, and best sources to reporters and producers, who will follow up with
you. We will never use what you say on the radio or Web without your
permission.
It's pretty simple. We believe you know a lot -- about Frogtown and more. And
we believe your knowledge can strengthen our news coverage.
Right now, I'm trying to find out what's happening in Frogtown that MPR News
ought to be watching. We report a lot on the Central Corridor Light Rail.
What else?
What's promising or unsettling about where you live, work or own a business?
What community issues aren't getting attention? What issues need more?
Tell us more about Frogtown here: http://bit.ly/Frogtown_May2010
Many thanks,
Melody
