Wow, what a change a weekend makes:
The old Maryland bridge is GONE!
Traffic was very slow this weekend as all I-35E traffic was
directed up the exit ramps at Maryland while the bridge was
being removed.
This morning traffic on I-35E was back to normal.

Community Members,
Here's a news summary for the Payne Phalen area:
I-35E & Maryland Construction: At 9 PM tonight (9/13) until 5 AM Mon.,
I-35E is reduced to one lane between Arlington & Cayuga, to remove a portion
of the Maryland Avenue bridge. For this weekend, I-35 traffic is routed on
the exit/entrance ramps, and there is no access to I-35 @ Maryland.
Ramps will close on Monday until late Aug. The new Maryland Ave bridge
is being constructed along side the freeway to reduce the time that Maryland
will be closed. Suggestions for design items on sound walls are welcome.
