Today brings a break from our extended, dreary wintery hang-over and now is
time to think of those fun activities a Minnesota Summer brings. I am
pitching sailing. This is something we here in St Paul have just like
Minneapolis. Minneapolis thinks sailing is so important it is a part of it's
city logo. In case you forgot what their city logo looks like I have
included it as an attachment. I started the Saint Paul Sailing Club (SPSC)
in 2007 as a direct challenge to the existence of the clubs in Minneapolis.
If they have them so can we.
Now we need to breath more life into the SPSC. The fall in the economy has
been a challenge for each and everyone of us and also for the SPSC. We have
a small, dedicated membership, but we need to grow. We have a number of
boats we put out on Lake Phalen along with buoys for seasonal rental for
people to park their boats on the water for the Summer. Our rates are quite
reasonable $200 for an individual membership or $300 for a family up to
four. Our buoy rental is $300/for St. Paul or Maplewood residents or $400
for non-residents. SPSC members get a $100 reduction.
We are just getting ready to launch our boats for the 2011 season and need
you help. Join us. Help out. Go sailing.
